"Nowadays, news seems like some kind of mass-manufactured commodity." M. B. Rajesh. At the Kerala Literature Festival, Kerala`s Excise Minister, M. B. Rajesh, talked about the book `Ente Nadukadaththal` by Swadeshabhimani. He discussed how people show intolerance to differing political views, citing the book`s themes. Minister Rajesh stated that `deportation is not legal` about Swadeshabhimani`s exile. M. B. Rajesh discussed how the media views Swadeshabhimani`s deportation, noting differing opinions. He pointed out similarities between the book`s context and current incidents, highlighting the central government`s intolerance towards the media. In the second half of his session, he mentioned that the central government is now influencing most of the media. According to him, only a few online independent media outlets are brave enough to report news that strikes against the ruling government. He also remarked that current media sources display bias in the news that they cover. Highlighting the information overload in today`s world, he said that we`re surrounded by excessive news. Additionally, he pointed out that the majority of the media now either operate as businesses or protect corporate interests, saying," News has become something like a mass-manufactured commodity nowadays."
