P Pavithran is a cultural critic and language rights activist. His prominent works include Marx Gandhi Ambedkar: Aadhunikathavadathinte Rashtreeya Soundaryasasthram, Mathrubhashayku Vendiyulla Samaram, and Bhoopadam Thalathirikkumbol: Novel Padanangal. He won numerous awards, including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi`s I. C. Chacko Award.
