Jayati Ghosh is a renowned development economist, and professor at the University of Massachusetts. She is a member of the UN`s High-Level Advisory Board on Economic and Social Affairs. She has authored and/or edited a dozen books and nearly 200 scholarly articles. Her major works include Demonetisation Decoded: A Critique of India`s Currency Experiment (with CP Chandrasekhar and Prabhat Patnaik), Handbook of Alternative Theories of Economic Development (co-edited with Erik Reinert and Rainer Kattel), and After Crisis: Adjustment, Recovery, and Fragility in East Asia. Ghosh has received several national and international awards and honours, including the International Labour Organisation`s Decent Work Research Prize for 2010.
