Sohini Chattopadhyay is a National Award winning film critic and a journalist based in Kolkata. She writes in politics, public health and the arts. She was named one of the New India Foundation fellows in 2021 for her book project on women athletes in post-Independent India. She won the Bala Kailasam citation for reporting on the web in 2017, the Ramnath Goenka award for feature writing in 2015 and the 2014 International Red Cross and Press Institute of India prize for humanitarian reporting. She recently published a work titled, The Day I Became a Runner.
