U K Kumaran is a novelist, short story writer, and journalist. His major works include Ente Makal Sthreeyavunnu, Policukaarante Penmakkal, Thakshankunnu Swaroopam, Ezhuthappettathu, and Kananullathalla Kazhchakkal, among others. He is a recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award and the Vayalar Award.
