Shajahan Madampat is an Indian writer and cultural commentator, writing in Malayalam, English and occasionally in Arabic. He has, to his credit, three books in Malayalam, in addition to numerous essays and articles published in leading journals and newspapers such as The Hindu, Frontline, Huffington Post, Indian Express, Outlook, Gulf News, Khaleej Times, Bahrain Tribune, Biblio, Mainstream, Outlook Travel, Mathrubhumi Weekly, Kalakaumudi Weekly, Madhyamam Weekly, Bhashaposhini and Pachakuthira. Much of his writings over the past two years appeared in Outlook, an Indian weekly current affairs magazine.
He holds a Master’s degree in Arabic Literature and M.Phil in International studies with specialization in Middle Eastern Studies, both from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He lives in Abu Dhabi.
