Dr. Pradnya Daya Pawar is a leading Marathi poet, columnist and writer. Her work is political and deals squarely with caste oppression and patriarchal exploitation in Indian society.
Her books on poetry include Antastha, Utkat Jivghenya Dhagiwar, Mi Bhidvu Pahatey Samagrashi Dola, Aarpaar Layit Pranantik and Drushyancha Dhobal Samudra.
Besides poems, she has a two-act play, a collection of short stories, two books of column-writing and two anthologies to her credit. Her writings have been translated into various Indian and foreign languages. She has been awarded a number of prestigious awards at the state as well as national level. She was invited for poetry readings in Moscow International Book Fair (2009).
She is working as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Marathi at Satish Pradhan Dnyansadhana College, Thane, Maharashtra.
