P M Gireesh has a PhD in Socio-linguistic Nature of Cities in Kerala. He has authored several books in English and Malayalam. Critical Discourse Analysis: Linguistic Studies, Keralethile Acarabhasha, . Adhikaravum Bhashayum, Zero Degree, Metilda Meeshe and Arivum Bhashayum Dhaishanikabhasastram : Amukam are some of his notable works.
Girish does research in Morphology, Interlinguistics and Discourse Analysis. Their current project is 'Cognitive Malayalam Grammar'. He has been awarded the prestigious Kerala Sahitya Akadami I.C. Chacko Endowment Award (2017) for his book entitled An Introduction to Cognitive Linguistics in Malayalam. He also got the best researcher Award, University of Madras( 2017) for his work on Cognitive Poetics research . His book George Lakoff Bhashaute Rastriya Manassu is a best seller.
