The recipient of the 2019 Ezhuthachan Award, Anand is a renowned writer and the author of novels like Aalkoottam and Govardhante Yaathrakal. His works which also includes short stories, poems and essays are known for their philosophical touch and flavour. Novels like Marubhoomikal Undakunnathu, Apaharikkapetta Daivangal, Abhayarthikal, Maranacertificate were critically acclaimed and has won the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award and three Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards. He has also received the Vayalar award, the Odakuzhal award and the Vallathol award among others.
