Mónica de la Fuente is a dancer, choreographer and artistic director of her own dance company. Trained in Indian classical dance (1994-2000) in Bharata Natyam and Kathakali under ICCR scholarship, she has devoted herself for the last 20 years to the creation and dissemination of the classical and contemporary dances of India. She has created over 20 intercultural productions in dance and theatre that have been shown internationally. She has collaborated with the legendary film director Carlos Saura for the production “Flamenco, India” and she was the associate director together with Ignacio García for the theatre production Kijote Kathakali. She is the artistic director and teacher of LA-India, the Laboratory for Performing Arts at Casa de la India in Valladolid, Spain. She has published various articles on Indian dance and theatre traditions and in 2019 she has been nominated with the ICCR Distinguised Alumni Award.
