He was the Editor-in-Chief of Global Broadcast News that includes CNN-IBN. Nikhila Henry, Special Correspondent with The Hindu, Hyderabad was moderator of this session was attentive as ever.
Rajdeep Sardesai talked about contemporary media and about its job to show the mirror to the power. He also said that it’s not being done, saying that media was once a watchdog but now it became a lapdog, indicating various sources of influences.
When asked about his opinion on the current political situation, Rajdeep Sardesai said that it has all become black and white, that one could not be in the middle. He further said that our leaders do not see each other as rivals rather as enemies.
Rajdeep Sardesai also pointed out that Modi has addressed the media so far. When Nikhila Henry mentioned the online services, Mr Sardesai also stated that the problem with the leaders is that they are becoming active on social media and are not interested in governance.
