The session 'Space Science and the Physics of Universe' was held at Kerala Literature Festival 2019 at Ezhuthola. Former ISRO Chief G. Madhavan Nair was in conversation India’s first cosmonaut Rakesh Sharma.
The conversation began by Mr Rakesh Sharma proudly talking about the future of the Indian Aeronautics and added that, "We are the future.” He later elaborated his magical journey to the space. He supplemented that, "Our country looks beautiful from the space, the Shores, the Coastlines, the Deccan Plateau, the Desert, the Indo-Gangetic plain, and the purple looking Himalayas makes it more beautiful. I'm proud of this country which has everything."
The two also talked about “Mission Chandrayaan” which according to Dr. Madhavan Nair was an expensive project. Dr. Madhavan Nair also added the fact that, "Every element of human life is affected by space." The question was asked regarding the colonisation on moon to which Rakesh Sharma responded by saying that we all need to collaborate and be the people of planet Earth or Earthians. Dr. Madhavan Nair also mentioned about the beautiful highways and the paddy fields.
The session was concluded by Rakesh Sharma after mentioning about sustainable development and added that, “Sustainable development should be attained since technology is galloping we cannot afford to do things sequentially." Rakesh Sharma also asked the audience to be future ready since the next wave would be space wave.
