The play ‘My Body Welsh’ by Tara Robinson and Steffan Donnelly was showcased at the Kerala Literature Festival. Steffan Donnelly is an actor, Artistic Director at Invertigo Theatre Company.
The whole-act was performed by Donnelly alone. There were tumblers, glasses, jars, different containers filled with water on stage. The play showcased the political scenario of Wales. It talked about how David and Jones wanted the ownership of a well and how an age-old skeleton was part of it, hence, symbolically showing the ownership tussle for Wales. Presented in a comic way, the play used water as the main prop. Steffan’s proficiency in theatre was seen throughout the play. The play was bilingual, while the main character talked in both English and Welsh, the Malayalam translation was shown on the screen.
