The session, Composition of Poetry, Exile and Nostalgia was held at stage, Vaakku on 10/1/2019. The moderator of the session was Arunlal Mokeri, who is an author, translator and speaker. He introduced the panel of the session Cheran Rudramurthy, the voice of the modern poetry, Anita Thampi, an Indian poet and translator and Anwar Ali, poet, lyricist and documentary film-maker. The session began with the words of Cheran Rudramurthy, who shared his experiences and nostaligia regarding his travels. He was quoted as saying, "The fish doesn't talk about water," revealing the intense feeling of nostalgia. After that he continued about the sentimental longing.
Anita Thampy discussed about Exile. She desribed the degree of forced exiles and their emotions, and also about gender and caste exiles. She concluded her words by the quote, " A space traveller carries the atmosphere of Earth when they leave the surface." Anwar Ali, criticised the disgusting phases of political exile and shared his experiences of Sri Lankan protests. He remarked that birth place is stable and that all the other places are unstable.
As the concluding note moderator mentioned poetry of the panelists and he also pointed out that exile is seperation or disgust but nostalgia is an everlasting memory.
