Blending elements of fiction and fact at the right proportion was the session on Indian Crime Writing Scene and their Dark Side featuring DGP Loknath Behra, the author of Kaalkoot, SVenkatesh moderated by Bindu Amat.
The session touched upon the narrative of the novel Kaalkoot the major plot of which is set up in the Himalayas. The speakers opined that creativity and keen observation is what makes crime thrillers an engaging read. DGP Loknath Behra said about the increasing use of cyber cues for investigations and the younger generation who are interested in crime thrillers.
The speakers mentioned Black Friday by Hussain Zaidi as a ghastly account of the one of the biggest terrorist attack on Bombay in 1993. The session concluded with an interaction by the audience.
