Sufi talks and chants with the Ustad a session in which Madan Gopal Singh was featured took the audience into a mystical journey through love and life. The session started with Sabitha Satchi introducing the speaker and the topic. "Living in between the spiritual environment of Amritsar and the spirit of Jalianwalabagh longing to be free from chains paved the way to Sufism and Sufi thoughts. While reaching Delhi from Lahore, I was mesmerized by the beauty of Qawalli, and got easily drawn into it," Ustad stated.
Ustad opined that madness is the defining principle of any creative person and to be a visionary means, to be a little mad in the thinking. He also stressed on the point that Sufism is a nomadic and mystic tradition and often it is misunderstood as a section of Islam. “Sufism goes beyond a specific religion, a broader style of worship that breaks the limits of religious sentiments. Sufism is always persecuted and hunted as it questioned the orthodox. It understands religions through a combination of religions,” he added.
Ustad engaged the audience by providing a journey of love and truth through his gifted voice and the seductive notes of Sarod. He moved his lines from Rumi to John Lennon. The session was remarked as a mystic treat to the audience.
