KJ Baby, Civic Chandran
Civic Chandran and K J Baby, reunited after a long gap to discuss on his latest book, Good bye Malabar. The session was filled with talks on history, culture, and religion. KJ Baby had taken a short interval from writing and has come back to literature anew with his new novel.
The session started with a song by KJ Baby based on the history of Wayanad and Malabar. They continued on with the discussion on his book Bespurkana and Civic Chandran’s disappointment on not writing a sequel to it. K J Baby said that he had hoped to continue his sequel from Tiruvannamalai but was unable due to physical distress. He recovered slowly and he was inspired to write about William Logan and his life. They discussed on the inspiration behind Malabar Manual, how Tiruvannamalai gave him a calm and safe space, about why the story is in the perspective of Logan’s wife Anna and how the mentions of Marx, Annie Besant and so on.
They also discussed on the many aspects that affect the history of Malabar and ended with another song by KJ Baby.
