The role of illustrations can never be left alone it is dissolved in literature. Readers often memorize the drawings even after many decades, the plot of the story or the characters may come secondary to them. According to Sunil Ashokapuram, there was quiet annoyance from the editors when an artist took freedom while drawing, India today gave more freedom for both the artists and the ideas, K C Narayanan also gave support and freedom to draw according to the creativity of the artist. Currently there are no restrictions while illustrating but many years before it was faced by the artists. Pattanam Rasheed also shared very interesting stories.
The artists talks about how they derived inspiration from Artist Namboothiri. The challenges faced by the artists which were not known to the outer world along with many interesting stories were revealed in this session which was carried on by Pattanam Rasheed, Sunil Ashokapuram, Bhattathiri, Bhagyanathan, Kabita Mukhopadhyay, Sunil Ashokapuram, Ponnyam Chandran and Sudheesh Kottembram.
